...just one o' those moments where it feels like fail and win at the same time.

I remember I ranted so hard about the nonexistence of uke-Lupin....

For I have just finished taking deliciously long ganders at at least five uke-Lupin sites. Oh, the glory~. You see? I'm happy so long as there's at least a decent share of my taste.

In fact, there was even a site that shipped some Goemon/Lupin, also <3 <3 <3. (Primarily, it was Jigen/Lupin, but I was just excessively pleased at the fact that Lupin was submissive for fucking once, though it was more than just one time >D.)


In short: Moshi is in such bliss, she could do another MRI scan right now.

So, why is it with gay pairings in fanworks that there always has to be a designated dominant character and a designated submissive?

This is what I miss most about the Harry Potter fandom: The fanbase is so ridiculously and impossibly hung-like-a-horse-HUGE that you're guaranteed to find at least a couple hundred others who share your tastes, no matter how funky your preferences may be.

Even with TMNT, there are so many who like hurt!Leo and a handful of us who appreciate the Casey/Leo pairing.

Unforunately (fortunately?), Lupin the 3rd is not so mainstream. Especially in the States. You know where I'm going with this? I'm gonna pretend you do.

And not that I'm totally and intolerably uke-Lupin (though, with the way things are going, I'm most likely headed there). I really don't mind it when a couple shares dominance. I actually prefer it that way most of the time, you know? It's cuter to me.

But when I go through 100+ Lupin III fansites and NONE of them have Lupin as the one getting it up the ass WHATSOEVER, Moshi's gon' get a little loopy, yeah? A little like a lot a lot. Like really, though. Like, despite more important things I could name that are going on in life right now, my mind is going to shreds over this one little thing because WTF WHY IS THERE NO UKE!LUPIN?!?!

It's stuff like this that makes me go all-the-way. That makes me create ONLY bottom!Lupin works. That makes me ANTI-top!Lupin.

Because while I'd like to support shared dominance, I'd moreso like to even out the fucking mountain-terrain of a playing field!

At first, I just liked it cuz it made me laugh cuz it was so self-assured and egotistical. But that's just so Lupin. OMG JUST LOOK AT THIS VERSE, PLZ:

oh, yeah, and, also...after a few seconds of Lupin sobbing, Jigen says something like, "A dame never did anything good for you."

and...uh, Jigen? what good has any man ever done for Lupin? you and Goemon treat him like crap most of the time. and yeah, he's a scoundrel, but he's no worse than either of you two, who team up with him. and he can be an annoying ass, but he more than redeems himself by being ingenious when it counts and always being there whenever either of you (or anyone, for that matter) need him.

methinks this is Jigen-attempt #495632405630475630476530645 in indrectly asking Lupin to be with him forever and ever. no, seriously. this isn't even me being obsessive, anymore; this is Jigen and his dislike towards women and his possessiveness of Lupin.

y'know, one thing (among many others <3) that i can commend a Lupin movie/special for are the one-shot characters.

it's an unfair fact that i hate original characters with a passion, even if they're official; and with Lupin movies, there's always a new face to have to care about, who for some reason is always plot-necessary, when the movie-creators are already doing not-so-good with giving the all already-existing characters decent screen time.


but, anyway, that's the real kicker, right? by the end of each Lupin movie, i always find myself thinking Wow...that character actually wasn't so bad; I like 'em..

this one didn't differ at all.


(btw, tonight's feature film was Liberty Crisis.)


at first, i thought the kid was plain annoying. any original character who just struts in with that self-assured air about them, walking around like they exist outside the movie they were created specifically for, just irks the hell out of me. i thought, Ugh. He's gonna bug me the whole hour 'n' a half, huh?

he didn't. just like all the other one-shot faces that pop up in the Lupin movies, of course.

Here's How It Happens (To me, at least. Every single time.)


1) Begrudged Acceptance.
You get over the fact that they're there pretty quickly, after knowing that they're on the completed movie and there's nothing you can do about it.

2) Less of a chill in the atmosphere.
The movie reveals the OC's past somehow. You get more of a sense of where they came from and what they were up to before they entered the land of Rupan Sansei. More than likely, it's somewhat of a tragic tale; how else could an audience respect them, other than knowing they've experienced some real pain? The verdict at this time for the said character is: okay; sure; whatever. You at least respect them, now.

3) ;___;
After the climax and the wind-down, there's this reminder that no, you will not be seeing this character ever again. And you remember them and what they've gone through and what fun they had with Lupin and the gang, and how life-altering Lupin is so you consider how the character had been affected (usually, it's the best thing that could ever happen to the OC).

And, I dunno what happens here.... But suddenly, you find yourself caring. Caring enough to point of liking. And liking enough to the point of missing. It's freaky, I know.

The reaction is ten times more likely if the ending was sad. (Like Liberty Crisis, here. It's inexplicably terrible what trauma they give Michael. It's not even yummy angst, either. It's pointless, random, and much like real life---which might've been a good concept to form with this kind of ending, but they did not pull it off well.)

Isabella (or was it Isabelle???) I kinda liked initially, mysteriously enough.

probably because i've seen enough Lupin movies to not be affected by Lupin hitting on another pretty dame, so i didn't really care. (and pretty, she was <3.) and it was situated so that Goemon would be her love interest; and Goemon always gets terribly devoted and loyal when it comes to women, which is too freagin' cute <3 (every) <3 (single)<3 (time) <3.


but, yeah. just handin' it to the Lupin franchise for pulling off the good OCs.

(i didn't like Clarisse much, tho. or that green-jacket guy from Green vs Red. actually, those two movies are probably two of my least favorites. go figure....

so i'm still worried about watching Stolen Lupin, wherein is an OC that is Lupin's implied daughter. but the art looks so nice---very reminiscent of the Red Jacket series---and the animation looks recent. still fidgety, tho. guess i'll just have to watch.
